About the Gallery

B.Y5 Gallery was founded in 2017 by Adi Shabbatay Pappo, the association’s director, and Nir Harmat, the chief curator from 2017-2019. Between 2020-2023, Mirav Rahat served as the chief curator, and during 2023, Dr. Tal Frankel Alroei took on the role of chief curator, serving until mid-2024. Currently, Nir Harmat has been reappointed as the gallery’s chief curator.

The gallery is located in south Tel Aviv, between Herzl Street and Shoken Street, near the industrial zone. The area is home to artists, craftspeople, workshops, galleries, and workspaces. Thanks to them, the area has become a meeting point for various types of creators and diverse audiences.

With a connection to the craft work taking place around it, B.Y5 Gallery seeks to be a platform and home for material dialogue. The gallery hosts artists from the fields of art, fine arts, and design, and offers a space for experimentation and discussion of materials, in both traditional and contemporary contexts. The gallery hosts solo exhibitions, group exhibitions, annual exhibitions by association members, artist talks, lectures, and content events, with the aim of creating an open and broad dialogue space.
