What is the source of Eros? Aristophanes’ creation myth offers one possible answer to this question. This myth serves as a point of departure for Sivan’s material exploration. Sivan sculpts the androgynous human—connected and whole—studying its movements and bodily postures while standing, sitting, and lying down. She examines it from every possible angle, sculpting, photographing, deconstructing, and reassembling. A series of quick sketches forms a storyboard of animation, woven into motion through the material in the hands of the artist.
